 IANA (Intermodal Association of North America) developed it in partnership with SiteTrax.io, with input from operators, IMCs, and other subject matter experts across the intermodal community.  

Why did IANA create this?

 The intermodal industry is at an inflection point. Rates are changing, the economics are shifting, and operators need better tools to stay competitive. Sustainable growth requires more visibility, smarter coordination, and solutions that actually work in the field. This framework gives the industry a shared language for where AI can make a real difference.
